Astounding vintage Goyard trunk in a rare extra large size. The oldest and largest antique Goyard trunk available for sale anywhere. Completely original leather, canvas and brass, unrestored.Circa 1910, and just over 4 feet wide. Large wooden frame wrapped in the iconic Goyard canvas print with saddle leather and brass hardware as well as wooden supports on the front, top, bottom and back. Goyard branding engraved on the brass hardware, and leather tabs throughout as well as the large brass handles on the sides. Original wheels in-tact underneath and roll smoothly. Incredible patina and coloring to leather and canvas showing beauty and appropriate age. Linen and silk lined interior in shockingly clean condition. Timeless simplicity in design and iconic badging have made this brand a staple of elegance since 1853. Initially started as a malletier for the aristocrats of the 1800s, Goyard developed it's "Goyardine" canvas which is made up of three layers blending linen and cotton and covered with a resin that makes it waterproof and provides a leather look. Goyard has kept its original location in Paris which is imprinted on all their pieces. The branding reads "233 Rue St Honoré, Paris" with the Goyard name above. Some wear as shown. Over 100 years old. Large open space for goods. Great vintage condition.
